The Russian company Useful Robots has successfully tested its joint development with the design bureau Karfidov Lab, an industrial exoskeleton ExoChair for the lower body, which is also equipped with artificial intelligence.

Many types of physical work are associated with injuries, but at the same time they are quite simple in terms of the number of actions required. Loaders and builders, lifting heavy objects many times daily, regularly receive injuries to their backs and joints, muscle strain, and more. Domestic development is designed to make life easier for people of similar professions.

The exoskeleton weighs only 4 kilograms, and the battery lasts 48 hours. This is the first development of such a plan in Russia, and now engineers will have to collect a wide range of information to create action templates. The angles of inclination, the position of the housing, the forces exerted at each particular moment in time, and so on. ExoChair can be adapted to the growth of a particular person from 165 to 190 centimeters.

When the data collection is completed, the developers will create a set of algorithms for fixing the exoskeleton in the most optimal poses. In addition, the developers plan to further reduce the mass of the device, according to preliminary data, it will be possible to reduce it to 3,7 kg, as well as improving the mounting system. If ExoChair goes into series, the cost of the device is estimated at 150 thousand rubles.

Earlier, in 2016, the American company SuitX introduced a similar development, but with modules for the whole body - legs, back and upper shoulder girdle.
