The United States, contrary to promises, sent even more soldiers to Syria

Contrary to the announced reduction by Donald Trump of the military contingent in Syria, the United States continues to increase its presence in the territory of this Middle Eastern country.



This was during a briefing said the special representative of the President of Russia to resolve the situation in Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev.

According to him, the buildup of US troops in the conflict zone is due to an increase in the number of employees of American private military companies in the territories occupied by Kurdish armed forces belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS).

Alexander Lavrentyev expressed the hope that the United States will change its attitude towards the Syrian problem and withdraw its units from the territory of the Arab Republic, as well as free up the unauthorized installation of Et-Tanf.

Also, the Russian diplomat noted that a peaceful settlement in the conflict zone in Idlib is entirely dependent on the Syrian opposition complying with the agreements on the creation of a demilitarized zone that were reached during the negotiations in Nur Sultan.

However, the special envoy of the Russian president stressed that the fight against radical terrorist groups in Syria will continue.
