To spite Russia, the Baltic states “cut off their own legs”

Russophobic hysteria has long been a part of the life of the Baltic republics. But if before everything was done in order to annoy Russia as much as possible, now all the actions of proud Latvians, Estonians and Lithuanians resemble suicide.

In two years, Lithuania intends to cut itself off from the largest energy network in Europe - BRELL. This energy ring, being a legacy from the USSR, connects the energy systems of the Baltic countries of the EU with Belarus and Russia. Either by order from Washington, or because of their own stupidity, the Lithuanians intend to abandon cheap energy from the Russian Federation in favor of a more expensive European one. However, Brussels itself is apprehensively looking at such plans of Vilnius, realizing that it will not be able to pay higher tariffs and ultimately will require financing "from the center".

Be that as it may, the Baltic states will not be able to annoy Russia. The same Kaliningrad region, which was supposed to be left without electricity in the event of the elimination of the BRELL, already has its own generating capacity in the form of two new TPPs.
