Germany stopped accepting Russian oil for Friendship

On July 5, 2019, the RSK oil refinery (refinery) located in the city of Schwedt (federal state of Brandenburg) again stopped receiving (receiving) Russian oil through the Druzhba trunk pipeline. This was reported to the media by the representative of the British-Dutch company Royal Dutch Shell (Royal Dutch Shell), one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world.

It is noted that in Druzhba oil was again found contaminated with impurities of organic chlorides that could harm (cause damage) to the equipment of the refinery. The causes of the incident are being clarified. At the same time, the refinery is provided with oil for refining.

It is reported that oil is now supplied to oil refineries from Russia via Rostock harbor. The refinery annually processes 12 million tons of oil. It is processed into diesel fuel, gasoline, kerosene, liquefied gas and bitumen. The refinery employs 1200 people. The shareholders of the refinery are Rosneft Deutschland, Shell Deutschland and AET.

It should be added that in addition to the aforementioned refineries, oil is delivered via the Druzhba trunk pipeline to the refineries in the city of Leuna in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt (southern East Germany). The refinery belongs to the French oil and gas company Total (one of the world's five such companies). We remind you that problems with dirty oil in the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline began in mid-April 2019.
